Updates and stuff

Man alive, it's been a while. I am totally horrible about updating my blog posts and related. It's just been such a hectic past few months, mostly with migraines from the weather in Texas not being able to make up its mind. With the up and down temperatures, and the changes in pressure, my head has been far from happy, which has resulted in my not being as active as I would like.

That being said, I am working on various projects, including a new fan fiction, editing my husband's next book, a massive sewing project (think giant Baymax plushy 2.0), as well as learning Japanese so I can translate some of my children's books into that beautiful language. Confession: as far as the Kanji goes, I'm struggling. There are so many! I'm still having issues learning all the Katakana, too, but that's another story.

Another sad thing is that I had to change up my website completely. It's no longer hosted on blogger, like it was previously, so I had to rebuild it all from scratch, which was no easy feat. Back in the day, when migraines didn't rob me of stamina and concentration, it wasn't as big of a deal. But Google decided my blogger stuff couldn't be indexed anymore so I had to make some serious changes there. Thus, if you try to go to my blog, here where I'm posting this one, you might get stuck. But if you go to my website (url has not changed), I have started blogging there, though definitely not with the frequency I probably should.

Any who, just wanted to pop on and say hi to everyone. Thanks for your continued support. My husband sends his thanks to all who have bought his book as well. Hopefully I can be more active with my posts, but if not, just know I'll at least try to pop on when there's some kind of update y'all need to hear.

Until then, toodles!

Apologies for the mess

For those who can actually see this, I've been having issues with Google and their indexing my website as of late. For that, I apologize. I'm working on figuring it out but it's being a real pain, if you know what I mean.

In the meantime, I am working on getting back into the writing groove by perfecting my craft on non-original works that I post for fun on various fan related sites. If you want a link, feel free to message me.

Trying to think what else might be of interest to you guys while I work out the kinks and the such.

I would like to thank those of you who have supported myself and my husband by buying our books. I know things are kinda tight right now for many of us and that makes it extra hard.

I am also trying to figure out a lot of other stuff in relation to my health, as I've had a lot more migraines lately than I'd care to admit. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be a whole lot I can do about it besides hang in there and hope for the best right now. Hopefully that will change soon.

Um... Anything else... off the top of my head, I can't really think of anything else worth sharing so this is what's going on with me right now. Here's hoping I get the site indexing thing figured out and fixed. would be nice, to be sure.

Oh, I'm learning Japanese now and hope to translate my children's books into Japanese in the not too distant future, so that's another thing to hopefully look forward to. And that's pretty much it.

Thanks for your continued support!

It's release day! The White Raven Saga: The Price of Fire by Daniel Lucas

 Greetings everyone!

I know I've been slacking on the updates, and the promoting of my husband's first book, but it's officially released today!

Born a commoner, Karniel has had to fight his way, claw, tooth, and nail, to a better place. Now, with a chance to join the Fire Brand Army, he doesn't hesitate. Unfortunately, several noble heirs are jealous of his skills. In spite of their plots, Karniel rises through the ranks, advancing faster than any other new recruits. Despite his humility, several of his noble peers still see him as an outsider and do everything in their power to disgrace him.

Sick of Karniel's continued growing prestige, his jealous noble peers settle on finding ways to get the interloper expelled from the army. Unaware of others' plans, these nobles set to strike on the Trail of Tears, setting a chain reaction of events that no one will be able to recover from.

Late Spring Cleaning

Hey all, just figured I better give y'all an update on things.

I've been trying to update the website a bit, some Spring Cleaning, as it were. I have added to author pages for those publishing under the DragonKey Press Banner: Allison Platero and Daniel Lucas. Feel free to check them out.

Publishing-wise, our next release will be The White Raven Saga: The Price of Fire (book one), by Daniel Lucas. This is expected to release August 5th.  Current information for this can be found on our "Books by author authors" page.  I will post more information as we get closer, including a cover reveal.

As for myself, I have started to write a new story, though I'm not yet sure how far I can go with it, or how fast. So, while I've managed to publish a book every year, in my name, that might not happen this year. There's a lot up in the air on that end. But I can say I have adapted many of my YA books into screenplays, one of which I have entered into the Austin Film Festival. I'll let yo know how that goes. It takes place at the end of October.

And that's about it for now, folks. I hope you guys enjoy heading into summer and that you keep reading!
