Thanks for being a reader!

I wanted to let y'all know I appreciate you guys. It's been over a week now since my latest release, The Things Dragons Do, and I appreciate your support through this journey to get everything done. It was a really fun book to not only write, but to illustrate as well. I even used new mediums I hadn't previously explored, which is a bonus. I hope the result is more than pleasing to y'all.

I also hope you like the little tidbits I've shared about the various dragons from around the world. I tried to get a good representation in the best light possible. And, honestly, I had a blast making this work of love for y'all.. It definitely helped me get through what has already been a difficult year, so thank you to those who have already purchased a copy, or who plan on purchasing a copy.

In other news, in case you hadn't heard, I am already working on the next children's book. The manuscript is still in draft form, so I'll refrain from giving you the working title, since I'm not sure if it will change yet or not. But I already have a general idea of what I want the illustrations to look like, as well as the medium I'll be using to color them. As always, I'll be drawing them by hand first. and I anticipate a Spring 2027 release date, so keep an eye open for that.

I am also working on writing a dystopian novel, though I have no generalized release date for that one, since I'm not sure how cooperative the story, let alone the characters, will be. I've got a lot of projects in the works and I'm slowly trying to check off each one, including updating my script adaptations of my previous YA novels. Fingers crossed those changes will make them more palatable to the various contests available to me.

Other news, I am working on other art, and a few sewing projects, though I did finally finish one that I'd started way back last year.... Took me look enough. lol. But that one's done, and I have a new one in my sights. Gotta keep the creativity going when the stories are giving me the middle finger, after all. Maybe I'll post a pic or two of my latest sewing project once it's done, if it turns out the way I hope it will. We'll see. ;-)

As always, please continue to support me. And keep writing!

I suck at updates

Hey everyone. I know I haven't written here in a long, long, long time. I have no excuse other then that life happens, and I tend to forget about writing blog posts while dealing with the every day stuff. For those who didn't know, I am now on Instagram. That's a fun change.... Though, I confess, I'm not exactly great at updating things there, though I do try to post at least once a week. Sometimes that doesn't happen.... but it is what it is. I am still on facebook and you'll get more out of me there than anywhere else. So, what's up in my world? Well, my husband's second book, The White Raven Saga: A Change In Tides, has officially been launched into the world to quiet fanfare. Yeah, didn't really have the money or time to do a proper marketing launch campaign, sadly. But I hope you'll all go and check it out just the same because it's pretty good, especially since he doesn't consider himself an author but a storyteller. In other news, I've been turning more to my art lately, working on various projects involving sewing, painting, and generally creating. I am working on a fan fiction that has been part of an ongoing series for over a decade... and I have to go back and reread stuff with that to remember where I was going with things, stuff I've already mentioned etc, because I had to take a break with that as well due to some health issues. Yeah, not fun. Texas weather being what it is, unpredictable at the best of times, has done a number on my household and our chronic migraines, so yeah... migraine flare ups are common and often debilitating. (I debate doing a mini series of podcasts or posts about that but we'll see.) I am also now doing mentorships with select individuals, so that is also keeping me busy. And am trying to network with various creators, mostly in the voice acting industry. I'm not entirely sure if I'm trying to put my hat into the ring, regain my confidence with just reading/narrating in general, or what, but I do plan on narrating my fan fictions and posting them to the interwebs as a lead up to, hopefully, narrating my original works for audiobook consumption. In a world where AI is becoming more previlent, I think it important to keep up on that if I can, but it's definitely not easy. There are a lot of challenges so it is what it is. There are many pseudo projects in various stages of work, drafts mostly... so we'll see where that goes. There are a couple childrens book stories on the back burner, as it were, and there are a few scraps of potential novels running around, occassionally wanting attention, though not too much, so nothing major has come of them yet. I think, for the moment, I'm in "rest and recovery" mode, but am hoping my husband, Daniel, will have his third book of The White Raven Saga seris ready for me to play with soon. He's editing it, but with his many full and part time jobs to make ends meet, he's not having as much luck with working on those either. All that said, we are both plunging ahead with what we can and hoping for good things in the future.
